Johanna Faust, a mixed race Jew, prefers to publish pseudonymously. She is committed: first, to preventing war, ecological disaster, and nuclear apocalypse; last to not only fighting for personal privacy & the freedom of information, but, by representing herself as a soldier in that fight, to exhorting others to do the same. She is a poet, always. All these efforts find representation here: "ah, Mephistophelis" is so named after the last line of Christopher Marlowe's Dr. Faustus, whose heretical success flouted the censor for a time.

ATTENTION ALL ENGINEERS:
Bruce Schneier's Call-To-Arms

"A Call To Arms" by Rodin -- graphic reinterpretation by a female faust

The venerable Bruce Schneier has just declared a war on the current, untenable, state of virtual affairs.  Ever since the Snowden revelations, he has made increasingly braver and more strident statements calling for whistleblowers to come forward, that we may learn as quickly as possible the length and breadth of the trespasses and violations of our rights.

This latest amounts to, in the words of one Anonymous consultant, "a sweeping call-to-arms for all engineers to step up to their 'moral duty' to fight to protect the internet."
